I am used to reading, mostly self help books and whichever interests me in a way to develop my sense of life’s purpose and spirituality. I do it because I find it very rewarding. When I read a book, I lose the sense of time. Most of the time I find myself in a peaceful state of mind (of course I am very selective of what I read, I prefer not to read books with disturbing content). I believe that this particular state of mind which is different from person to person according to their preferences.
My point is that reading alone can bring you a time which is totally dedicate to yourself. Although everyone of us say that we are too busy to read, even the 5 minutes that you spend with a book will give you the feeling that you escaped from your busy life for a while. It’s worth it! Don’t take my word for it, just try it yourself.
I have noticed that lots of people read while they travel, on their way to work, at the cafe and in parks in their leisure. It is obvious that these people are getting the best out of their time. May be it has become a habit or an addiction with a positive consequences. This part of the world where I live, most of the people read, and read a lot. No matter how far the technology has evolved (not to mention the i-pods & the smart phones that has invaded all of us ) there are books all around. And as an alternative to reading, some prefer to listen to the audio copy of the book through their i-pods.And some do read while listening to music too.
I wish the younger generation of our country gets the best out of this healthy habit of reading. As I have noticed “fashion” is one of the best modes of reaching out to them. It’s a matter of developing a “passion” for it. And I don’t think it’s impossible because it’s already a fashion here.

Well written hun …
I do hv a habit of reading while listening to music.. Its just a feel of fullfillment for the day and it makes one feel better after a long tiring day at work.
To me, it brings me to a different and peaceful world, where there is only me and my storybook… =)
I love reading.. and this is definitely a well written post..
